The Feathered Flounder
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Feathered Flounder welcomes submissions from contributors age sixty and older. (Obviously, if we receive a submission from a Pushcart Award-winning Pulitzer Prize recipient who is 59, we might make an exception.)
Submissions may be 500 to 10,000 words, or 10 minutes for video. We accept:
• short stories, novel excerpts
• essays, nonfiction book excerpts
• video creations
Feathered Flounder seeks original and diverse voices. We encourage submissions from authors willing to share their serious, silly, irreverent, moving, wild, heartbreaking, educative, and inspiring stories. The Feathered Flounder only considers never-before-published manuscripts.
We are committed to literary excellence in an age of aggregation and instant publishing, and therefore reserve the right to edit submissions in keeping with that standard of excellence. Those who choose not to have their submissions edited must indicate that in the submission process. FF is distributed freely and does not charge a submission fee, thus it cannot pay contributors.
In lieu of payment, contributors will receive links/publicity to their websites or book pages.
Writers retain all rights to their work. Period. Feathered Flounder accepts simultaneous submissions: we simply ask that you notify us if your submission is accepted elsewhere.
